Secret Stash On Patreon- Celebrity Envelopes: The Men

men

It’s the third Thursday of the month, the day that I post The Secret Stash on my Patreon page– that is, sketches, reference photos, old flyers, and other ephemera from my files. Today I have a selection of decorated envelopes sent to friends over the past four decades or so, specifically ones that depict famous people. Because there are so many of these, I split the pile up into male and female celebrities. This month it’s men; I’ll post envelopes with women at some point in the future.

Stumptown Preview 2012

Bagge: "I'll Be Back"
Bagge: "I'll Be Back"

I’m not planning on doing anything radically different at this year’s Stumptown Comics Fest, which is happening this Saturday and Sunday here in Portland. I’ll be selling books, among them my latest, Extreme Perspective! published by Watson-Guptill, taking pictures with my Palm Pilot (like this 2008 shot of Peter Bagge, who I think will be back this year), sketching during downtime, visiting with friends, maybe taking in a panel or two. At 1 pm on Saturday I’ll be doing pretty much the same perspective presentation I did last year.

More Letters To Steve

One of the highlights of my recent trip to Los Angeles was a visit to my friend Steven Abrams. In addition to showing me his office at the Jimmy Kimmel show, Steve let me borrow a bunch more of the decorated envelopes I’ve sent him over the years (Previous blog post with more letters to Steve) to scan for that long-planned collection.
